Barleylands Go Green with Solar Power!
Sustainability is the buzz word here at Barleylands Farm Park and Craft Village this summer as we have added 220 solar panels to the roofs of the buildings to create in the region of 60,000 watts of electricity a year.
The environment is a top priority for us. With our strong field to fork ethos we teach thousands of school children and farm park visitors about farming and the environment and we are proud to be committing more and more to renewable energy as we strive to reduce our business’s carbon footprint.

It was a substantial investment but not only will we reap a financial reward as the years go by but in our own way we are reducing our carbon footprint and helping conserve the environment around us.”
Barleylands already shows its green credentials by teaching visitors and school groups about recycling, conservation, climate change and how we can all live more sustainably. Those using public transport can enjoy a 10% reduction on entrance fees to the farm park, and as much recycling is undertaken as possible including composting food and animal waste, using shred paper animal bedding and more.
