To many people, this New Year will be marked by an array of resolutions from joining a gym to changing career, or learning a new skill. Why not do all three? Volunteering is a great way to get fit, meet new people, learn a new skill or gain some experience. We currently have volunteering opportunities in our exotic mammals, reptile and birds of prey departments.
Who can volunteer?
Anyone who is able to work independently or as part of a team. Are you a student looking to gain some experience? A parents who’s kids have gone back to school with some free time on your hands? Or are you retired looking for a new hobby? We just ask that you come with enthusiasm and a keen interest to learn.
What will you be doing?
We don’t currently have any vacancies within the farm park. The vacancies we do have are in the exotic mammal, reptile, and birds of prey departments.
You will be helping to care for the animals with routine husbandry, feeding, cleaning, maintenance and grooming as well as handling and training. You will help with cleaning and tidying around the site and there is even opportunity’s to work with the public by helping with experience days or talks and presentations!
The longer you volunteer with us the more opportunities you will have. Some volunteers have even gone on to become members of staff.
When will you volunteer?
Volunteers can do any day of the week Monday to Sunday. We normally ask people to do all day 8-4/5 pm depending on Winter and Summer opening hours.
