Woolly Weekend took place on 25th and 26th May at Barleylands Farm Park. Joined by industry experts, we had sheep shearing, wool spinners and speakers at the event.
The event took place within the farm, where customers could watch the shearing of all of our sheep and listen to the talks taking place throughout the day. There were a group who joined us that shared how to use wool for spinning and loom creations.
We had informative posters and shearing tools dotted around the events barn for customers to find out how we take care of our sheep.
We kept children engaged in learning and provided crafts for them to take part in.
The wool that was sheared throughout the weekend was donated to the spinners and some of it has been used around the farm in the nature reserve. This is for birds to use for nesting.
Woolly Weekend will return again in 2025 on 7th and 8th June.
