When is the campsite open? |
Our campsite is open all year round, we have pitches with and without electric hookups. All pitches can be booked Monday to Friday, between the hours of 9am and 3:30pm, by calling us on 01268 290223. Please note that the availability of all pitches are weather dependant and it is best to call in advance. |
When can I check in? |
We recommend that you arrive before 5pm if you need assistance with your arrival and set-up, as we do not have a warden on site past these hours. If you experience difficulty in finding your pitch upon arrival please contact the main office on 01268 290223 or visit the farm park kiosk |
What are the facilities at the campsite? |
We have a grass level site, with some hard standing and electrical hook ups. There are toilet and shower block facilities within 100 metres of your pitch. There is plenty of open space surrounding the campsite for walking.

What can I do within walking distance of the campsite? |
There is plenty of open space surrounding the campsite for walking around the scenic countryside and the number 300 bus stop is only 50m from the campsite if you wanted to travel further afield. Also within easy walking distance (less than 300m), you will find The Village at Barleylands, which is home to a unique collection of artisan craft studios and boutiques that you are welcome to browse from 10am to 4pm, Tuesday to Sunday. If you would like to be pampered during your stay, The Village is home to some luxury treatment rooms or enjoy the fun workshops and activities for all ages, including Pottery Painting! There are two eateries based within The Village where you can stop for a bite to eat; Tiptree Tea Rooms (open 9-4, 7 days a week) and The Magic Mushroom Restaurant (open 12-late Weds to Sat and 12-4 Sun). If you are looking for a fun day out for all the family, you can always visit Barleylands Farm Park, which is right next door to the campsite and open 10am to 4pm every day throughout Winter and 10am to 5pm every day throughout Summer (we even have a special ‘Stay and Play’ offer for our campsite guests, call the Farm Park on 01268 290229 to book).

Is there somewhere to eat nearby? |
Just 300m from the campsite you will find Tiptree Tea Rooms, which is open 7 days a week, 9am to 3pm. It is the perfect place for breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea. Within the same location, The Village at Barleylands, you will also find The Magic Mushroom Restaurant offering fine dining for lunch or dinner. The restaurant is open Wednesday to Saturday 12 noon to late and Sunday 12 noon to 4pm. If you prefer to dine at the campsite, you can instead enjoy their very successful takeaway Collection Menu.

How do I book to visit Barleylands Farm Park during my stay? |
We also have a ‘stay and play’ offer available all year round for our campsite guests. Please call the Farm Park, which is open 10am to 4pm every day throughout Winter and 10am to 5pm throughout Summer, on 01268 290229 to book.

Is the campsite dog friendly? |
Dogs are very welcome but must be kept on a lead and cleaned up after. There is plenty of open space surrounding the campsite for dog walking. Dogs are not permitted within any of our visitor attractions but can be walked around the Craft Village.

Do we allow BBQs and firepits? |
No campsite fires are allowed but BBQs are permitted as long as they are off the ground.

Do we have a chemical disposal (Elsan point) and mains water? |
Yes, we have a waste point and access to mains water on the campsite.

Is there is a shop on site? |
Unfortunately, we do not have a shop on the campsite itself, however the Barleylands Farm shop is only a short drive away (just 350m from the campsite) and is open 7 days a week, 6am to 5pm. The Farm Shop sells fresh fruit, vegetables, dairy, baked goods and meat, as well as cupboard essentials and be contacted on 01268 288886.

Do we offer disabled facilities? |
Yes, we have toilet and shower facilities suitable for disabled guests, 250m from the campsite.

Are you allowed day time visitors to campsite? |
Yes, 1 or 2 visitors are more than welcome to visit your pitch as long as they do not stay over night.

What are the arrival and departure times? |
You may enter the campsite from 1pm on the day of your arrival, you must leave the site by 12 noon on the morning of your departure. If you would prefer a later departure time please speak to Lynn on 01268 290223. We recommend that you arrive before 5pm if you need assistance with your arrival and set-up, as we do not have a warden on site past these hours. Is there a minimum/maximum night stay? |
There is no minimum stay and any bookings over 7 days are at the management’s discretion. Contractors are welcome but no commercial vehicles are allowed on site.

What public transport is available locally? |
The number 300 bus stop is 50m from the Barleylands campsite. This links Barleylands directly with Billericay (and railway station), Basildon (and railway station), Chelmsford (and railway station), Grays and Thurrock (Lakeside). Find out more at firstgroup.com.
