Whilst the snow was bringing the UK to a standstill last night, it was all go at Barleylands as three new additions were welcomed to the Farm Park.
Aptly named after the snowy weather, Olaf, Kristoff and Elsa were brought into the world under the watchful eye of Barleylands’ Farmer Finkle via CCTV.
Although the birth went ahead with no complications, just after the kids’ arrival Farmer Finkle noticed things weren’t going to plan.
Said Farmer Dave Finkle: “The first feed for a kid is extremely important. As soon as I noticed the kids hadn’t started to feed, I knew I had to get down to the Farm Park no matter what the weather.”
Arriving on site at 10pm, Farmer Finkle found that the mother didn’t have enough milk to raise them and the decision was made to start feeding the kids by hand.
Added Farmer Finkle: “Our animals are our priority. We ensure they are looked after to the highest standards. Our staff are excited to raise the new born kids and we hope everyone enjoys watching them grow.”
The kids will be available for viewing in the Animal Barn from Friday 13th January. With entry into the Farm Park only costing £6 throughout January when you book online, it’s the perfect time to come down and visit the new additions.
