Bring characters such as Sarah, Percy and Bill to the Classroom with our ‘Owls from the Stories talk’.
This talk will introduce Students to the birds behind the story, allowing the children to learn more about Owl behaviour, habitats and diets.
You will even witness an Owl in flight!
In many ways birds are unique from other animals and one of the most striking thing about them is their ability to fly.
We will briefly go through why and how birds fly, and even demonstrate this with one of our Owls.
Students will be introduced to a range of different animals, bringing to life what they eat in their natural world.
We will look at the relationships these animals hold with each other, particularly in the context of who eats who, and how energy makes it ways from the Sun to the belly of an Owl.
No live feeding demonstrations will be given.
Particularly suitable for Y3 students.
One of the more mysterious of our experiences, looking at animals that make themselves at home in the dark!
An introduction to animals that tend to be more active at night, particularly focusing on the senses that these animals use to help them navigate the world when the sun is down.
This talk will include a range of exotic animals, as well as watching one of our Owls in flight.
It can be argued that every feature of an animal has developed to allow them to successfully thrive in their specific habitat, and their specific role within said habitat.
Students will meet a range of different animals in action, learning about how they have specifically adapted to the world they find themselves in, how they make sure they’re able to obtain food, and how they can avoid being eaten themselves.
Perfect for Y2 Students studying habitats.
What is the difference between an invertebrate and a vertebrate?
Which types of animals are cold blooded?
Why does a bird have feathers instead of hair?
All of these questions and more are covered in the ‘Animal Classifications’ talk. Students will be introduced to animals across a range of different classes: Invertebrates; Amphibians; Reptiles; Birds and Mammals. Looking at how these animals are categorised, whilst being able to enjoy some of the wonderful things they are capable of.
Supports Y4 in the study of classification keys.
This is our most popular Workshop! A chance to have a one-on-one encounter with one of our animals.

The history of the Harvest Festival and how our food is grown and harvested. Ideal for the autumn term.
Aimed at teaching children how their food is grown and its journey to their table. We will bring a variety of seeds and their familiar end products found in the supermarket. Children will see wheat seeds being ground into flour and learn about the process of turning growing wheat into bread.
Based on the eat well guide, we offer a fun workshop where children will create a ‘healthy’ and ‘unhealthy’ lunchbox and learn the importance of a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle.
